It must be the sudden appearance of blue skies - everything seems more colourful today! The anemones have suddenly burst into colour and are brightening up my kitchen windowsill. I love having flowers in the house, especially at this time of year when there is so little colour outside.
Oh sigh -
Gallo socks - a happy find while on holiday in Italy - it's good when the washing makes you smile and makes you think of Tuscan skies even in the midst of a Scottish winter. It's probably a good thing that no one seems to stock them in the UK - how many pairs of socks does one woman need.
The temperature dropped significantly yesterday and because we've been out working all week and the stove hasn't been on during the day, the house has been a little chilly. However, it's always an excuse to pull out the crochet blanket of ripples and keep cosy. This is still a bit of a work in progress, but is definitely big enough for keeping warm on the sofa. There is something very rhythmic and soothing about crocheting ripples. This pattern was from the wonderful
Attic24, Lucy's tutorial's are brilliant and I certainly would never have fallen in love with crochet the way I have if she hadn't made it appear so simple.
I managed to cut out the pieces for the next patchwork block and I wondered why it had taken me all week to do it!
Today has been a very mixed bag of colour and fabric - it was good to finish work this afternoon, head home and know that tomorrow was a day without work - somehow that spurred me on to do a little bit of crafting. The beret is finished, all sewn up and stretching into shape as I type.
