Fruit Basket

A big box arrived at the back door this morning and inside was a large basket of fruit. A very kind thank you to Mr M from someone he helps out now and again. It looked really tropical - especially on a dark January morning. Evie liked the big box it came in.

I had to have words with my little cat friend yesterday. Evie was inexplicably drawn to the beaker of pussy willow. I had the very long branches in a tall vase and she spent a few days jumping the height of herself and grabbing the pussy willow buds. I then decided to split the branches into smaller pieces and placed some in a beaker. She would position herself beside it, then dip her paw in the water and pull the beaker and its contents over - spilling water nicely all over the table. Never before has a plant been so well named.

Tonight I started a variation of a hat I knitted as Christmas gifts - can't believe I didn't take a photo of them?! I'm using the remaining Adriafil Candy that I bought in a sale from a local yarn shop. The ones I made had an owl motif in cable on the front, but I think I will just make this one plain.

It shouldn't take long to knit up. Busy week at work and I just need to switch off.
