St Valentine's Day

It's a very sad day when a grown woman has to resort to this sort of thing on St Valentine's Day - and as if I didn't feel ridiculous enough as it was, a red squirrel was very angrily shouting at me from the beech tree during my heart creating moment.

As I was on a bit of a roll on the bonkers front, I filled up one of the bird feeders with all my yarn ends - just incase the feathered visitors to the garden feel in need of a new look for their nests. I came across this on a blog last year and have been saving little ends of yarn ever since.

Maybe it's because it was Friday or I was reaching overload on watching the Winter Olympics - well done Lizzie Yarnold, you were awesome at what must be the most terrifying sport ever devised!

Anyway, yesterday the post brought me an impulse buy - although in my defence it was on sale! Two lovely skeins of Juno Alice DK from Loop. I have already been working with one of them on a crochet project - it just needs to be blocked before it is photographed.

Never one to finish one project before rushing on with another.......I have finished knitting the Seed Head Mitts.....one mitt sewn up and the other to finish off. I wish I didn't dread the making up bit as much as I do.

  1. Lovely apple-y green mitts, I have resorted to 'making hearts' for photos - so no, you are not a nutty as you think! Although sounds like the squirrel thought you were.
